Safety, Health, and Risk Management

Farm MachineryImproving safety and occupational health in agriculture is the broad goal of this research. Improved design of devices and mechanisms to enhance safety is a major area of study.

Current projects include effectiveness and feasibility of insurance incentives to change farm safety behavior; improved safety devices for farm machinery investigation of engineering and ergonomic control technology; and a cooperative agreement for occupational and safety surveillance through health departments and nurses in agricultural communities in a state of readiness.
