Overview
The Department of Bio-based Products offers a certificate in Paper
Science and Engineering requiring completion of 12 credits (four
classes), all offered online. All classes can also be taken by
themselves (without completion of the certificate). This certificate
will also be offered at the graduate level and classes can be transferred
to the online
MS degree program.
The curriculum for the PS&E Online Certificate Program will
serve working adults who are employed in the paper or allied industries
or students interested in a paper background. The intent of the
certificate is to prepare graduates of the program to make informed
decisions in a highly competitive, technological environment and
to enable them to apply specific scientific concepts to real-world
problems that are social, environmental and technical in nature.
The Department of Bio-based Products has educated engineers for
the paper industry for more than 30 years. This new undergraduate
certificate will consist of 12 credits drawn from the Department
of Bio-based Products in the College of Natural Resources. The
courses will be taught by faculty in the Department of Bio-based
Products. The certificate has to be completed within a 4 year time
period.
This program is not eligible for financial aid.
