Areas of Interest

My research involves modeling the effects of chemical, thermal, and biological agents on the physical and mechanical properties of wood composites and the serviceability/durability of wood-based systems. I currently serve as Project Leader of the Performance Designed Composites research work unit at the U.S.D.A., Forest Products Laboratory in Madison, WI. My work is primarily used to adjust engineering design or preferably it is used to mandate processing or exposure limitations in Codes and Standards that preclude strength losses.
