Faculty in the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems
Engineering are actively involved world-class research in
number of key areas including:
- Bioenergy, bioproducts and renewable energy systems
including bio-based materials, wood products, bio-composites,
bio-based chemicals, biofuels, bioenergy and energy systems
- Environmental and ecological engineering and industrial
ecology including water quality and erosion control, life-cycle
assessment, and corporate environmental management
- Air quality (odor, gases, dust) testing and mitigation;
and manure management
- Food production, processing, machinery systems,
safety and security
- Advanced building systems for humans and animals
