Jesse Lund is a Master's of Science graduate research assistant working underneath Dr. William T. Y. Tze. He obtained his Bachelor's of Science in Chemistry from the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota in 2006. He will complete his Master's of Science in 2008 and intends on pursuing a Ph.D. somewhere within the fields of polymer science and nanotechnology.
Jesse's current research focus is on the synthesis of cellulose nanocrystals, encorporation into polymer-matrices for nanocomposite formation and detailed materials characterization (TEM, AFM, DVS, etc.).

Graduate Level Courses Taken:My hobbies include running, lifting, racquetball, reading and spending time with his friends. I studied German for 6+ years and traveled to Essen, Germany through a foreign exchange in the summer 2000. In addition to my studies, I have been involved with the Vietnamese Student Association of MN since the spring of 2004 (board member since 2006) and am currently appointed as the Treasurer (through summer 2008).
