Jonathan Schilling (PI) lives in Roseville, MN and received his Ph.D. at the University of Maine. See the other page for information on Jonathan.

Shona Duncan (Postdoctoral Associate) is from Hamilton, New Zealand and received her Ph.D. from Waikato. Her Ph.D. research focused on diversity and cellulolytic activities in fungi isolated from historic huts on Ross Island, Antarctica. She is currently working on peracetic acid generation for pretreating lignocellulose prior to saccharification, as well as sharing her extensive knowledge of protein biochemistry and fundamental mycology. She is interested in polar exploration, and is also an accomplished golfer.

Zewei Song (Ph.D. Student) is from Yunnan Province, China and joins us from Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden. Zewei's Masters research focused on the role of carbon fractions in woody debris on biogeochemical cycling. His focus now is on the colonization dynamics among fungi competing for woody substrates that give rise to these dynamics and the environmental variables that affect this process. He is enjoying traveling the U.S. with his wife Ming (a Ph.D. student in Soils). Zewei also sung tenor for the Chinese Academy of Sciences choir.

Brook Jacobson (Directed Research Undergraduate) is from Hudson, WI.. She is a Chemistry major, new to the lab in January 2009. Brook is doing directed research in the lab, including saccharification of lignocellulosics, and she is involved in the digital transfer of our work.

Jacob Inda (Undergraduate R.A.) is from LaCrosse, WI. He is a Biochemistry major in CBS and aims to graduate in 2012. 'Jinda' is working on a variety of projects in the lab, and we hope to keep him interested in wood biodegradation for as long as possible.
