Our Research:

We are interested in enzyme engineering and nanotechnology. Benefiting from the latest advances in enzymology, nanoscale science and materials technology, we explore the development of nanostructured biocatalysts for multiple step biotransformations with cofactor regeneration for production of bioproducts and bioenergy. Current research includes enzymatic synthesis of biofuels, biopolymers and specialty chemicals, as well as various bioactive systems including biofuel cells, artificial cells, coatings and liquid membrane bioreactors.
