Saw Tensioning Short Course

This course is not currently scheduled.

A one-week course for novice and apprentice saw filers that focuses on practical saw blade tensioning skills. Presented in cooperation with saw blade and saw filing manufacturers

This program gives participants a hands-on opportunity to learn and practice the fundamentals of saw tensioning and leveling under the guidance of highly qualified instructors. Over 25 hours of workshop practice are included in the course. During workshop sessions, participants will be using straightedges and the traditional "light gap technique" to determine the saw plate's levelness and tension. Proper hammering techniques and roller-stretcher use to correct saw blades will be practiced. Goals of the course are to help participants learn proper saw tensioning techniques and gain new skills and confidence.
