Provide an extensive summary of the efficacy of this practice based on previous research.

Need or Impact

The practice of controlled drainage is being adopted across the northern Midwest to mitigate nitrate-nitrogen losses from drained lands. The literature review will provide an overall assessment of the efficacy of the practice in different geoclimatic regions.
