Murray Madsen named Winner of Engineering Safety Award

ASAE has named Murray Madsen (BAE 1973) to be the 2001 recipient of the NAMIC Engineering Safety Award, sponsored by the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies and given to encourage and recognize annual contributions to the advancement of agricultural safety engineering in research, design, education, or promotion. He is recognized for his dedication and outstanding work to improve the safety of agricultural machinery.

Murray is a product safety engineer with John Deere at the Deere & Company Worldwide Headquarters in Moline, Illinois. He provides technical and product safety support for Deere agricultural factories and marketing regions in North America, Europe, and elsewhere. He is a valuable resource for individuals, the media, and organizations such as Farm Safety 4 Just Kids, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, and the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety. He is currently Vice President for Agriculture with the National Safety Council.

Murray is a member of the BAE Advisory Committee which last met in February 2001.
